Softscape Design & Installation

We offer thoughtful softscaping design based on the specific conditions of your site and ensure that they are planted to thrive. We are happy to collaborate with hardscape contractors to realize larger projects.

A microforest along a parkway with a pathway running through it for neighborhood strolls. The idea of a microforest is to create layers of canopy cover all the way down to the field layer, which I did by planting a native Torrey Pine for the upper level, a Western Beaked Hazelnut tree for the sub-canopy layer, Western Dogwoods for the shrub layer, and yarrow, sedges and grasses for the field layer, which over time will create lots of protective nooks for local birds, insects, and wildlife to shelter. I prioritized plants native to California, but included a few non-native plants for continuity with the existing landscape.
